2011 BAC Mono

First Year BAC Mono
"It's called the Mono, and it's amazing! The engine may be from a Ford people carrier, but it's been fettled by Cosworth, so now it makes 280 horsepower. And fitting a 280 horsepower heart in a car which weighs half a ton is, well, the effects are going to be profound" -Jeremy Clarkson, Legendary Automotive Journalist.
BAC (Briggs Automotive Company) is a group of absolutely mad scientists that looked at the current lineup of exotic cars and said "meh". The engine is a 2.3L mill that started life as a Ford Duratec Inline 4, but then Cosworth got involved. 280 horsepower might not seem like a lot, but when the car weights less than 1200 pounds, you start to understand the insanity of it. The suspension is a pushrod setup derived from Formula 1, the gearbox is pneumatically actuated, so with every pull of a paddle the next gear is hammered into place, and the entire body is made of carbon fiber, the same stuff used to make rockets, fighter jets, and missiles.
The phrase "this car corners like it's on rails" is frequently used, but there are only a few cars that corner better than a Mono. If you breathe out just a a little bit too much in the middle of a a high speed corner the air can be pushed out of your lungs due to the lateral G-force, and you'll leave the corner coughing. This particular car has a couple of special features that set it apart from other "regular" BAC Monos. Not only is it a 2011 (the first year of the Mono), but it's also signed by Formula 1 World champion Mario Andretti.
