2018 BMW M4 Convertible
The 2018 BMW M4 Convertible combined open-air freedom with the sharp performance and precision engineering that defined BMW’s M division. As the drop-top version of the high-performance M4 coupe, it delivered everyday luxury with a serious edge—offering drivers the thrill of a rear-wheel-drive sports car and the option to lower the roof and let the inline-six sing.
From the outside, the M4 Convertible carried the aggressive, sculpted lines of the coupe, with a power-folding hardtop that could retract in under 20 seconds. Flared fenders, a subtle rear lip spoiler, quad exhaust tips, and signature M-style mirrors gave it a purposeful stance, while wide color and trim options allowed for a personalized look.
Under the hood, the M4 packed a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six producing 425 horsepower (or 444 with the optional Competition Package), delivering strong torque across the rev range and a high-revving character. Paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, it launched from 0–60 mph in around 4 seconds—impressive for a convertible of its size. Adaptive M suspension, precise steering, and rear-wheel drive ensured it handled as sharply as it accelerated.
Inside, the M4 blended luxury and sport. Premium materials, M-specific trim, and deeply bolstered seats created a refined yet driver-focused cabin. The iDrive infotainment system offered intuitive controls, while features like heated seats, neck warmers, and a wind deflector made top-down driving comfortable in a range of conditions.
The 2018 BMW M4 Convertible wasn’t just a sun-soaked cruiser—it was a legitimate performance machine with everyday usability and a distinct personality. It delivered the best of both worlds: serious M power and the joy of open-air motoring.
